Katelyn Murphy

Written by the South Korean-British composer and pianist, Yiruma. Appearing on his second album, First Love, which was released in 2001, "River Flows in You" is a very well-known song and has been Yiruma’s top hit throughout his career. Although this is a very well-known song, I enjoy expressing my own music through this beautiful composition by Yiruma by feeling the melody dance across the keys. I hope you can hear the river's dance across the keys as well.

yelyzaveta Makhlay

I will perform a traditional Ukrainian song that portrays sincere love for the mother in Ukrainian culture. This song is a story about a dying mother who worked hard all her life to ensure a great future for her children and great-children. And on the verge of death, she is leaving the legacy to her children, but they are simply refusing to let her go, arguing that nothing can replace her presence and her love. The inevitable fate reveals that the mother turned into a vast landscape of fields. This song is a reflection of Ukrainian values pictured by the genuine love toward the image of a mother in Ukrainian culture and the authentic love for the Homeland.
